Make the web work harder for the businesses on it
Every site we ship should be measurably better at its job than what it replaced — faster, clearer, easier to act on. If we cannot articulate how a design decision serves that, it does not ship.

We started WebDesignerPR because too many good businesses were being sold the same template with a different photograph on it. Nine years later, the position has not softened.

Who we are
WebDesignerPR is an independent web design and development studio based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We build custom websites for companies that have outgrown the site they started with.
Our clients are usually in the same position: the business has changed, the website has not, and every month the gap costs them something — a lead that went to a competitor, a product page nobody can find, a phone call that would not have been necessary if the site had simply answered the question.
We fix that by starting with the business, not the layout. What you sell, who decides, what they need to believe before they act. The design follows from those answers, which is why our work looks different from project to project even though the standards never move.
We stay small on purpose. Two to four projects run at a time, and the people you meet in the first call are the people doing the work.
We build systems, not pages. Type scale, colour tokens, spacing rhythm and a documented component library come first. It is why the twelfth page of a project costs a fraction of the first, and why the sites we ship still look like themselves years later.
Every site we ship should be measurably better at its job than what it replaced — faster, clearer, easier to act on. If we cannot articulate how a design decision serves that, it does not ship.
Without layers of account management, work gets better and cheaper at the same time. We want a portfolio that makes that argument for us, and clients who stay long enough to see the compounding.
Your code, design files, domain, hosting and analytics live in accounts you own. If you ever want to work with someone else, the handover takes an afternoon and costs nothing.
These are not preferences. They are the reasons our projects finish on time and the reason the results hold up under traffic.
The hardest decisions in a website are not visual. What goes on which page, in which order, and what gets cut — that work happens in grey boxes before anyone picks a typeface. Sites that skip it always look designed and behave confused.
Most of a website is words. We treat type as the primary design material: a considered scale, real hierarchy, measure that respects the reader. Get that right and the site feels expensive before you have added a single image.
An animation should reveal structure, direct attention or confirm an action. Movement for its own sake is noise, it costs frames, and it makes people motion-sick. Everything we build honours the operating system’s reduced-motion setting.
Contrast, focus states, keyboard paths and semantic markup are part of the design, decided during design. Retrofitting accessibility is how you end up with a site that technically passes and practically does not.
We routinely remove things clients ask for. Fewer sections, fewer fonts, fewer plugins, fewer choices for your visitor to make. The most persuasive pages we have ever built were the ones we cut in half.
A short, honest list. Anything outside it we will either decline or bring in a trusted specialist for — and tell you which.
You will always know which stage we are in, what is due next, and what we need from you to keep moving.
Next step
Send us the problem, not a specification. The first conversation is about whether we are the right studio for it — and we will say so if we are not.
