01 · Overview

Retail website design in Puerto Rico has one concrete job: help a shopper find the product, see whether it's in stock and buy it without friction, whether they're in Bayamón or Orlando. For a boutique in Old San Juan or a shop selling local goods in Caguas, the site is the storefront that stays open after you lock the door.

We build on Shopify or WooCommerce depending on what your business needs. Shopify usually fits if you want to manage inventory without thinking about servers; WooCommerce fits if you already run WordPress or want more control over content. Either way the design is ours, not a purchased theme, and we set up in-store pickup, island shipping and shipping to the US mainland.

Before quoting, we talk through your catalog, your payment methods and how you handle orders today. Sales tax (IVU) is configured the way your accountant tells us to, and where the platform supports it we look at ATH Móvil with you as a payment option. You get a fixed price, staged payments and a store you own: code, content, domain and customer data.

02 The problem

Why so many Puerto Rico online stores don't sell

01

Heavy themes that load slowly

Many stores run a purchased theme with dozens of apps stacked on top. Each one adds scripts, and the result is a product page that crawls on mobile data, which is exactly where most of your shoppers are.

02

Shipping that ignores the island

Carts set up for the US mainland sometimes miscalculate shipping to Puerto Rico or skip in-store pickup entirely. The customer reaches the last step, sees a surprise cost and abandons the order.

03

Payments that don't match local habits

If your customers prefer ATH Móvil or paying in person at pickup, a card-only checkout leaves sales on the table. What your platform can support needs to be checked before anything gets designed.

04

A catalog nobody can keep current

When adding a product means calling someone, the catalog goes stale. Outdated photos, sold-out sizes shown as available and prices that don't match the physical store all chip away at trust.

03 What we build

What we build for your Puerto Rico online store

  • 01

    A platform chosen on purpose

We compare Shopify and WooCommerce against your inventory, your maintenance budget and your team. You hear what you gain and what you give up with each before deciding, so you aren't migrating again in two years.

  • 02

    Product pages that sell

Large but lightweight photos, clear sizes and variants, visible stock and a return policy that's easy to find. Each page answers the questions customers currently send you by direct message, before they leave.

  • 03

Shipping, pickup and payments that fit

We set up shipping zones for the island and the mainland, pickup at one or more locations and whichever payment methods your platform supports. IVU is configured the way your accountant specifies, not with a generic default.

  • 04

A store you can run yourself

You get a tidy admin and a short guide for adding products, changing prices and launching seasonal promotions. Thirty days of post-launch monitoring are included so we can fix whatever shows up once real orders arrive.

05 FAQ

What people ask in your industry.

It depends on catalog size, platform, payment methods and whether you need one language or two. We don't give generic prices: after a free scoping call we send you a fixed price in writing. You pay in stages tied to approvals, and if the scope doesn't change, neither does the price.

Shopify suits you if you want a managed platform with little technical upkeep, in exchange for a monthly fee and plan-based transaction costs. WooCommerce runs on WordPress and gives more control over content and hosting, but needs more care. We decide with you based on your catalog, your team and how you plan to grow.

It depends on the platform and the integrations available at the time of the project. We check during scoping and tell you plainly which options exist for your case, what they cost or require and how the checkout would look. If there's no reliable integration, we suggest alternatives such as paying at pickup.

We configure IVU following your accountant's instructions, because the right setup depends on your business and what you sell. For shipping, we create separate zones for Puerto Rico and the US mainland with their own rates, plus in-store pickup if you offer it.

An ecommerce project usually takes ten to twelve weeks from kickoff to launch. The biggest factor is how ready your catalog is: photos, descriptions, variants and prices. If you already sell on another platform, we plan the product and customer migration inside that timeline.
